Service 05 / Search Visibility
Show up when someone nearby needs you.
Most people looking for a local service search once, look at the first few results, and call one of them. Local SEO is the work of being in that group.

The friction
Why the last agency's reports didn't turn into calls
The most common complaint we hear about previous SEO work is not that nothing happened. It is that reports arrived monthly, numbers went up, and the phone did not ring.
The rankings were for the wrong things
Ranking for "roofing services" nationally does nothing. Ranking for "roof repair" in your city does everything.
There was nowhere for traffic to land
All services on one page means nothing can rank for any specific job, no matter how much work goes into it.
Nobody was tracking calls
Calls came in and got attributed to nothing, so the work looked like it was not producing.
The scope
What the work actually is
Defined before work starts. Documented when we hand it over.
- 01Google Business Profile; categories, services, service area, photos, posts
- 02A page per service, each targeting how people actually search
- 03Location relevance built through real content, not city-name pages
- 04Consistent business information across the directories that matter
- 05Technical foundations; speed, crawlability, structured data
- 06Review strategy; how and when to ask, and how to respond
- 07Reporting tied to calls, not to rankings alone
How we think about it
The honest version of the timeline
Local search does not move quickly, and anyone telling you otherwise is describing ads.
Weeks 1 to 4: foundations. Profile, structure, technical work. Little visible change. Months 2 to 3: impressions rise before calls do. Months 3 to 6: ranking movement on the terms that matter, and calls that can be attributed. Beyond six months it compounds, provided the work continues.
If you need leads next week, that is Google Ads, not this. Most businesses should run both; ads while the search work matures.
On guarantees: nobody can guarantee a position, because nobody controls the ranking. Any agency that guarantees page one is either describing a term nobody searches, or telling you something they cannot back.

Questions
How long does local SEO take?
Three to six months for a measurable change in calls, longer in competitive markets. Impressions usually move first, then rankings, then calls. Anyone quoting weeks is describing ads.
Can you guarantee first page rankings?
No, and neither can anyone else. Google does not sell positions and rankings change constantly. What we can do is the work that reliably improves visibility, and report on it honestly.
Do I need a Google Business Profile?
If you serve customers at a location or in a service area, yes; it is the single highest-leverage asset in local search. If you are not eligible for one, we will tell you rather than help you create a profile that risks suspension.
Why isn't my business showing up on Google Maps?
Common causes: the profile is not verified, the categories are wrong, the service area is set too broadly, or the business information is inconsistent across the web. Sometimes it is proximity; Google weights how close the searcher is, and that cannot be optimised away.
Should I do SEO or Google Ads?
Ads if you need leads now. SEO if you want a cost per lead that improves over time. Most service businesses should run ads while the SEO matures.
Do I need to blog every week?
No. Publishing thin content weekly does very little. A small number of genuinely useful pages beats a volume of filler.
